Ahhh, the perks of being the Vice President.

If you haven't noticed already, I love magazine covers. This one is a profile of the President in this past Sunday's New York Times Magazine. If you haven't read the piece, entitled The Education of a President already, please do so. Great journalism.

Fashion on the Campaign Trail: First Lady Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama hit the campaign trail this week to fund raise for her fellow Democrats. Visiting Chicago, Colorado, and Milwaukee, the popular first lady helped to raise major funds for these candidates all in tight races. With a little over 2 weeks till the midterms, Democrats are doing all they can to close the enthusiasm gap among their supporters.

The most successful African-American woman in the history of the executive branch
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice published a memoir on Tuesday about her childhood in Birmingham, Alabama. I have always been a big fan of hers especially since she is from my home state. Can’t wait to pick this up today!!

Magazines: Michelle Obama featured in Harper's Bazaar

First Lady Michelle Obama is featured in this month's Harper's Bazaar speaking about the importance of music and the arts. She looks stunning in the above picture, and I love the blue shoes paired with the pink dress.

One of my favorite quotes from the article...

"We want to lift young people up," she argues. "The country needs to be mindful that we have all these diamonds out there, and it would be a shame not to invest in those talents."

Time Magazine's 40 under 40 - Huma Abedin

So I met saw Huma Abedin last year, and fell in love. Besides being absolutely gorgeous, as well as fashionable, she is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's Deputy Chief of State. She even got her start as an intern with her when she was in the White House.

She was recently featured in Time Magazine's 40 Under 40 and I am really looking forward to see what she does in the future.

Check out the rest of Time Magazine's 40 under 40 here. Link [even though the list didn't include many political girls]
