Washingtonian Magazine releases Washington’s 100 Most Powerful Women List

Just came across this great feature on Washingtonian's website. The article entitled, "Washington's 100 Most Powerful Women, is similar to Forbes's noted list of female news makers but focuses solely on women in Washington's DC. Some of the women who stood out for me were:
  • Michèle Flournoy, who is the Undersecretary of Defense for policy and could be the first woman head of the Defense Department.
  • Marne Levine, is the vice president for global public policy at Facebook and was served as the chief of staff at the National Economic Council at the White House.
  • Marcia Greenberger, is the founder and co-president, National Women’s Law Center. One of the godmothers of the women’s movement, she’s still a powerful advocate for employment rights.

In Memorandum: Dorothy Rodham, mother of Hillary Rodham Clinton, dies at 92

Dorothy Rodham, the mother of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton passed away early Tuesday morning at the age of 92. Very instrumental in the life of her only daughter, Sec. Clinton often spoke of the hardships her mother overcame in order to raise her and her brother. Mrs. Rodham was often seem at by her side during big moments in her life including on the campaign trail and her swearing-in ceremony for Secretary of State. Our prayers and thoughts go out to her entire family.

She was a warm, generous and strong woman... an intellectual; a woman who told a great joke and always got the joke; an extraordinary friend and, most of all, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. - Family Statement
