The Obamas toured the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida on Friday afternoon.

In addition to touring the center, they also visited the NASA Orbiter Processing Facility and learned how tiles were attached to the wings of the space shuttles. The family was in town to watch the space shuttle launch, but it was canceled earlier that day to do technical issues.

Earlier in the day, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama also visited Birmingham, AL and toured the damage that occurred because of tornadoes on Thursday. Also pictured above hugging the First Lady is Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL).
