Census Results are in

The results of the 2010 census were released yesterday and the US population grew to 308,745,538. The country has added about 27 million residents over the past 10 years, but it is the slowest growth rate since the Great Depression with the population only growing 9.7%. The census is important not only because it tells us the population of the United States, but also shows us the makeup of the House of Representatives. With the new data, several states will see a change in their number of representatives.
Gaining House seats: AL, FL, CA, NV, SC, TX, UT, WA

Losing seats: IL, IA, LA, MA, MI, MO, NJ, NY, OH, PA

Texas gains four seats - the most of any state, while the south in general made gains in the past decade.
