MediaGirl: Jet Magazine Editor Mira Lowe Resigns

In media news this week, Jet Magazine editor-in-chief Mira Lowe resigned on Tuesday. Ms. Lowe was the first woman to hold this position when she promoted from Managing Editor in April 2009. Ms. Lowe stated in an interview with the Maynard Institute, "I just thought it was a great time to pursue some personal and professional goals," when asked about her decision to leave.
Jet Magazine is a unit of Johnson Publishing Company which also owns Ebony Magazine. The company has gone through several changes recently with the hiring of former Social Secretary Desiree Rogers as chief executive. Earlier this year, Ms. Rogers also brought on former Teen People editor, Amy Dubois Barnett as editor-in-chief of Ebony Magazine.
It will be interesting to see who is installed as the top editor of the newsweekly which has suffered in recent years as more readers log onto the Internet for their celebrity news. Who do you guys think should be the next editor?
