Spotted: Alicia Keys speaking with Pres. Obama

Singer Alicia Keys was in Washington, DC yesterday to commemorate World AIDS Day and also had an opportunity to meet Pres. Obama. They were both guests at an event hosted by the ONE Campaign and (RED) at George Washington University. During the event, President Obama announced new funding of $50 million to support treatment of AIDS here in the US. Also spotted in the crowd were Rep. Barbara Lee and singer Bono, both HIV/AIDS activists.

The Obamas are out spreading Thanksgiving cheer. Earlier today, Pres. Obama along with First Lady Michelle Obama, daughters Sasha and Malia, and mother-in-law Marian Robinson visited the Capital Area Food Bank. They  helped to hand out food to needy families for the holiday weekend.

Can't believe I am just now seeing these! I love Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) and she was spotted in Los, Angeles with Pres. Obama when he stopped at a local Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles to pick up some food. Pres. Obama was on a three-day trip to the West Coast for fundraising and spotlighting his new jobs plan.

The dedication ceremony of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial was held today in Washington, DC. The memorial located in West Potomac Park, was rescheduled today after it was delayed by the hurricane that hit the DC area on August 28. Leaders from around the nation gathered this morning to pay tribute to the fallen civil rights leader including President Obama (who spoke at length), First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joesph Biden, Dr. Jill Biden, U.S. Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar, civil rights leaders Andrew Young, Joesph Lowery, Rev. Jessie Jackson, Jr., and his children Martin Luther King, 3rd and Berince King.

State Dinner Time: Pres. Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama host South Korean President Lee Myung-bak

It's State Dinner time! President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and his wife Kim Yoon-Ok to the White House today for a state dinner. As for entertainment tonight, newcomer Janelle Monáe will preform as well as Ahn Trio, a classical ensemble of three Korean-American singers.

The 200 guests expected tonight will dine on the first course consisting of  Butternut squash bisque, honey poached cranberries, Virginia cured ham, pumpkin seed praline, and crème fraiche.A second course that will include early fall harvest salad on daikon sheets, masago rice pearl crispies, and rice wine vinaigrette. The main course will be Texas Wagyu beef, orange-ginger fondue, sauteed kale, roasted kabocha squash. Tonight's dessert will consist of chocolate male devils food layers with pear and almond brittle. Sounds good!

Michelle and Barack Obama celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary

Happy Anniversary Michelle and Barack Obama! The first couple's 19th wedding anniversary is today and they celebrated on Saturday by visiting Restaurant Eve, a local eatery in Alexandria, VA. The couple was married in at Trinity United Church in Chicago, IL 19 years ago and the wedding party consisted of Mrs.Obama's brother and his then wife, Pres. Obama's sister and two friends.

Hillary, Chelsea, and Bill Clinton and more at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City

The 7th annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) was this week in New York City. The meeting was established in 2005 by former President Bill Clinton, and it assembles global leaders to help solve some of the world's most pressing problems like HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. So of course his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and daughter Chelsea were on hand for the meeting. Other leaders that stopped by the three day event include President Obama, former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and The Daily Beast editor Tina Brown.

Obamas headline DNC fundraiser in New York City; Alicia Keys performs

Obamas are officially in reelection mode. The two attended a DNC fundraiser in New York City tonight at Gotham Hall. More than 400 people attended the sit-down dinner and was treated to a performance by Alica Keys. How much were tickets? Oh, just $2500 a person.

Daddy Daughter Time: Sasha Obama and Pres. Obama travel to Camp David


Well, its the last weekend of the summer and the Obamas are heading out of town. The President was spotted along with his youngest daughter, Sasha walking to Marine One this afternoon. The entire family will spend Labor Day weekend at Camp David, before the President visits victims on Hurricane Irene on Sunday.
