Pres. Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama along with Vice President Joe Biden and Jill Biden hosted a Hanukkah reception tonight in the Grand Foyer of the White House.

Aww, isn't this cute? Jill and Joe Biden just sent out their 2011 holiday card. Joined on the photo are their  sons Beau Biden and Hunter Biden and daughter, Ashley Biden and their five grandchildren. Even the family dog, Champ joined in on the fun.

Michelle Obama and Jill Biden join forces to paint veterans' house

First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden got down and dirty yesterday to help paint the house of wounded U.S. Army veteran Sgt. Johnny Agbi and his wife in Washington, DC. They painted a rebuilt house being offered to him as a part of their Joining Forces initiative for military veterans.

The dedication ceremony of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial was held today in Washington, DC. The memorial located in West Potomac Park, was rescheduled today after it was delayed by the hurricane that hit the DC area on August 28. Leaders from around the nation gathered this morning to pay tribute to the fallen civil rights leader including President Obama (who spoke at length), First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joesph Biden, Dr. Jill Biden, U.S. Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar, civil rights leaders Andrew Young, Joesph Lowery, Rev. Jessie Jackson, Jr., and his children Martin Luther King, 3rd and Berince King.

Today, Jill Biden, Secretary of Health & Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, and actress Jennifer Aniston took part in a roundtable discussion today at the INOVA Breast Care Institute in Alexandra, VA. They also spoke with doctors and nurses at the facility and toured a mammography lab with Costanza Cocilovo (pictured above), a surgeon at the center. Jennifer Aniston is visiting Washington to raise awareness with a screening of her Lifetime Original movie "Five," an anthology of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people's lives.

Vice President Joe Biden and his granddaughter, Naomi Biden just arrived in Beijing, China. The vice president is in the country for a five-day visit about the economy and will later visit Mongolia and Japan. He was accompanied by his 15 year old granddaughter, Naomi, who is the daughter of his son, Hunter Biden. Earlier this year, another of Biden's granddaugthers, Finnegan traveled with him to Russia.

Speaking of Dr. Biden, I wonder where she is? Perhaps, getting ready for a new school year. 

Jill Biden travels to Africa to visit with Somali famine refugees

Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, traveled to eastern Kenya over the weekend to visit the world largest refugee camp, Dadaab, located near the Somali border. In just the last three months, more than 29,000 Somali children under the age of 5 have died from the effects of the famine. Dr. Biden represents the highest official to visit the area where more than 12 million people are in need of food and water.

Jill Biden was over in Greece this past weekend to serve on a special delegation for the Special Olympics.  She also made time to visit some of our soldiers who are serving abroad. As you know, Dr. Biden, along with First Lady Michelle Obama are co-heading Joining Forces, an initiative to support our troops and their families. She knows just want these families are going through because her own son, Beau Biden, a captain in the Army, was deployed to Iraq in 2008.
