Former Social Secretary Desiree Rogers is featured in August's issue of Vogue Magazine in an article about famed Chicago boutique owner Ikram Goldman. Goldman is best known for dressing First Lady Michelle Obama, but also has dressed Rogers for many years. Also featured in the photo is her only daughter, Victoria who was spotlighted on the Vogue website back in August 2010. Victoria is a rising senior at Yale University and will graduate with a degree in Art History.

Ex-Social Secretary Desiree Rogers sat down with ABC News recently about her time at the White House. Airing tonight on 'NightLine', Ms. Rogers reflected upon her time as part of the Obama administration and the now infamous Sahali scandal.

One of the biggest admissions she made the interview was that if she had a chance to do it all over again she would have done less press.

Rogers also was chastised for doing magazine cover profiles, including one for the Wall Street Journal magazine in August 2009, in which she discussed how she was selling "the Obama brand." She admitted she now regrets the attention. "I would have declined more interviews that were brought to me," she said. "I'm not certain what the fascination was with me in particular. ... I think, you know, we could have managed all of that better." - Desiree Rogers

Desiree Rogers hosted a launch party yesterday for Kate Betts, who released her highly anticipated book, "Everyday Icon: Michelle Obama and the Power of Style" at Milk Studio in New York City. Looks like fun times.

Who will become the next White House Social Secretary?

The New York Times reported yesterday that the current White House Social Secretary will be leaving the position soon to head to Chicago and head up the fundraising aspect of President Obama's 2012 reelection campaign.

From the New York Times:

In addition to Mr. Messina, aides said, the top leadership team of the re-election bid will include two deputy campaign managers: Julianna Smoot, the White House social secretary who was the finance director of the 2008 campaign, and Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, executive director of the Democratic National Committee, who directed the swing-state operation in 2008.

Juliana Smoot was just appointed to the position in late February when native Chicagoan and Obama friend Desiree Rogers stepped down. While the article doesn't specify when she will step down, I'm assuming it will be in the next couple of months. That then begs the question who will be the next White House Social Secretary.

Will it be an internal candidate? Will it be someone outside of the administration? I must say I will be waiting for this one!

Desiree Rogers hosts fundraising concert for Rahm Emmanuel

Last night, Chicago mayoral candidate Rahm Emmanual sponsored a fundraising concert at the House of Blues Chicago. Desiree Rogers, the former White House Social Secretary and CEO of Johnson Publishing Company organized the event, while Jennifer Hudson headlined the concert.

MediaGirl: Jet Magazine Editor Mira Lowe Resigns

In media news this week, Jet Magazine editor-in-chief Mira Lowe resigned on Tuesday. Ms. Lowe was the first woman to hold this position when she promoted from Managing Editor in April 2009. Ms. Lowe stated in an interview with the Maynard Institute, "I just thought it was a great time to pursue some personal and professional goals," when asked about her decision to leave.
