Will she run? Sarah Palin covers Newsweek Magazine

In an interview out this week in Newsweek, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin declares she could win president in 2012..... if she decides to run.

“The people of America are desperate for positive change, and deserving of positive change, to get us off of this wrong track. I’m not so egotistical as to believe that it has to be me, or it can only be me, to turn things around. But I do believe that I can win.” - Sarah Palin

In memoriam: A look back at the life of Geraldine Ferraro

Geraldine Anne Ferraro, the first female Vice Presidential candidate representing a major American political party, passed Saturday after a 12 year battle with multiple myeloma. The fereious women's right supporter first started her career in the House of Representatives, representing New York's 9th Congressional District (Queens) for three 2 year terms from 1978 - 1982.

After rumblings that it was time for a woman to be on a major party ticket, Walter Mondale selected Ferraro to be his Vice-Presidential candidate in the summer of 1984. With her nominiation, she became not only the first woman to run on a major party national ticket in the United States but also the first Italian American.

After the loss of the election, Ferrano ran unsuccessfully for the Senate and then went on to accept an ambassorship to the United Nations Commission to Human Rights. During that time she also wrote to best selling books, Ferraro: My Story and  Changing History: Women, Power and Politics. 

Until her death, was an avid supporter for women rights and equality in our political arena. She was 75.

Sarah Palin meets Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu, yesterday while visiting Jerusalem. Earlier in the week, she visited New Delhi, India and plans to visit the holy sites today and tomorrow.

Michelle Obama will appear on "Good Morning America" on Friday

First Lady Michelle Obama will appear on "Good Morning America" on Friday to continue her outreach for military families.

As the first anniversary of Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign to fight obesity approaches, ABC News “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts accompanies Mrs. Obama in South Carolina for a first-hand look at how the issue impacts the military and its recent efforts to combat the problem. “GMA” goes behind-the-scenes with the First Lady as she tours the base in Fort Jackson, observes basic training initiatives, and meets with a top General spearheading a program to get soldiers to eat healthier food. Roberts will also sit down with Mrs. Obama for a wide-ranging interview to air Friday, January 28 on “Good Morning America.”

I can't wait to watch the interview which will also feature the First Lady in South Carolina. And by my count, Mrs. Obama has interviewed with Robin a couple of times, probably more than any other anchor/reporter. Ms. Roberts also interviewed Sarah Palin last year in one of her first interviews outside of FOX News. Looks like Robin Roberts is on a roll.

Sarah Palin released a video this morning decrying the media for trying to tie her to the Tragedy in Tucson, where Rep. Giffords were shot along with 19 others.

Within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. “That is reprehensible, " Palin stated in the video.

Bristol Palin buys house in Arizona

Reuters is reporting that Bristol Palin, daughter of former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, has bought a house in Arizona.

The 20-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin and third-place finisher on "Dancing with the Stars" quietly bought a five-bedroom, 3,900-square-foot home in the Cobblestones Farms neighborhood of Maricopa for $172,000 on December 10.News of the purchase, which only surfaced in the last few days, triggered media speculation over why the Alaska native would relocate to the lower 48 -- including reports she planned to study journalism at Arizona State University in Phoenix.A Palin family spokesman did not respond to a request for comment on Bristol's plans for the home, built in 2005 and featuring a three-car garage and landscaped backyard.

Hillary Clinton tops Gallup's Most Admired Woman Survey

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was named the most admired woman in 2010 by Gallup. This is a ranking that she has held for the past nine years. President Obama was named the most admired man. Here are the other women that were included in the poll.

TV host/media mogul Oprah Winfrey - 11 percent

First lady Michelle Obama - 5 percent

Sarah Palin covers this week's Time Magazine with a cover that reads, "Does she want to be President? Or just rich and famous?" I think that will be one  of the major story lines for 2011 as many Republicans began to start their exploratory committees to run for President. While Mr. Newton-Hall didn't quite get his answer in the article, its seems more and more likely that she will run for the nation's top job.

Sarah Palin released her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life" giving readers a glimpse into her life. The memoir not only recaps the 2008 presidential race and her decision to run, but shares stories of her growing up in Alaska and the value of family in her life.

Palin is also crisscrossing America on a book tour. And in step with her "rural America" image, she is foregoing big cities, and instead focusing on mid-range and smaller cities such as Oklahoma City, OK and even visited my home state of Alabama. The majority of the cities she visited are also in Republican leaning cites like Roanoke, VI and Dallas, TX, raising speculation that she is considering a 2012 presidential run.
